The 4 Best Scents to Make Christmas Even More Christmassy!

Love it or hate it you can't deny Christmas is always a time of year when everything just seems that little bit better.

You maybe be excited for time off work, spending more time with the family, or just excited for that Christmas dinner.

There are certain things that happen when you just know it's that time of the year. 

Your neighbours put up Christmas lights, you may have a Christmas tree go up in your local town. Tinsel seems to take over every shop window.

If you've got your tree up and whatever other decorations, you may have around your house it will feel like Christmas. You can't deny it.

There are already some good scents you can look forward to. If you've got a real Christmas tree the smell of pine will nicely fill your living room. 

Of course, who can also forget the wonderfully delicious smell of a Christmas dinner.

There are also some scents that will truly hammer home that Christmas feeling even more.

If you're looking for a candle for Christmas, you can't go wrong with any that contain these scents.

1. Cinnamon

Possibly associated more to all the baked goods you get around Christmas.  From Pumpkin Spice Lattes to cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning. 

The scent of cinnamon can also boost task related memory. In a small study  it was found smelling cinnamon improved performance for several types of memory related tasks. 

So, it may even help you remember to take the turkey out of the oven!

2. Gingerbread

Linked to the above, Gingerbread men always make an appearance around Christmas time. The smell will only evoke those bubbling Christmas feelings even more.

Just be warned having your house smell of these first two scents may make you hungry and disappoint any visitors!

3. Frankincense & Myrrh  

No matter your faith or form of seasonal celebration, you may have noticed frankincense and myrrh scented products start to pop up around this time of year.

Many first heard of these resins through the story of the Three Wise Men (Magi) and their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh at Jesus’s birth; thus, the connection to Christmas time. 

4. Pine

The natural smell of some key Christmas items (Trees & wreaths). You'll find a lot of candles around Christmas have tints of these scents in.  

Although they may not be as pure as the real thing, having these scents around your house will only add to the festive ambience.
