It's International Women's Day this Thursday, 8th March, and it's also Mother's Day on Sunday 11th March. So it's a big week for being a woman.
2018 certainly is turning out to be the year of the woman. Not only are we celebrating 100 years of women having the vote, but also with the growth of movements such as MeToo and Time's Up, this year, IWD seems especially important.
And for me 2018 is also turning out to be a big year. Finally having got my business idea off the ground and launching Candle Jar, I'm excited at the new opportunities that lie ahead. From meeting my customers face to face when I'm out on the road with my products, to communicating online with people from all over the world interested in Scottish hand-poured candles, along with meeting local candle-makers and learning more about the art of candle-making, I'm already enjoying this new venture way more than I thought I would. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Every day is a learning curve and with each new challenge comes another new idea.
So this Thursday, I'll be celebrating IWD and I'll also be present at Maxim, Eurocentral with my hand-picked range of Scottish candles. So come along, support women, support local business and fill your home with the scent of Scotland.
